What is Dental Implants?

  • Dental implants are  life-changing and permanent replacement for either one tooth or many teeth.

  • Dental implant tooth is a long lasting treatment which will looks and feels natural, and restores your beautiful confident smile.

  • Dental Implants are made of Titanium which is a biocompatible material . This means that it's rarely rejected by the body.

If you are considering choosing a tooth implant to restore your smile, the first place to start is an evaluation with Dr. S & Dr Y. They will perform a thorough examination and take x-rays of your teeth and jawbone to ensure that your bone can successfully support a dental implant.

Does dental implant surgery hurt?

First, let’s go over the surgical phase of a dental implant in S & Y Family Dental:

  • Step 1: You will be numbed with local anesthesia. We will not begin the procedure until the tooth area is completely numb.

  • Step 2: A space is created in your gums and jaw bone for the titanium post (the dental implant). Our dentists use 3D computerized planning to precisely place implants for predictable and long-lasting results.

  • Step 3: The post is inserted and secured. A cap is placed on top to keep it safe while it heals for the next few months. Sometimes, you may need a stitch or two to help your gums heal.

  • Step 4: We place temporary provisional teeth on the same day after treatment. These provisional teeth look and feel much like natural teeth, and you can lead a normal life immediately after surgery.

Most patients are pleasantly surprised at how simple dental implant surgery is and consider it easier than getting a tooth pulled.

What to expect after Implant Surgery?

  • You can expect to return to work or your daily activities the next day.

  • Similar to other dental procedures, avoiding hard foods is best, and using an ice pack can help with the swelling. If you begin to feel any soreness, we recommend taking over-the-counter pain relievers like Tylenol.

  • The healing time for a dental implant to fuse with your bone can take few weeks. Once it is fully healed, you will be ready for your final crown restoration, which will look like a natural tooth.

  • The Final Crown(s) or dental prosthesis can be screwed or cemented onto the post (Implant Screw). This is the final step of the process and should not cause you any pain

Summary:
Getting dental implants is a multi-step journey towards restoring your smile and jaw health. They come with many benefits and are often a cost-effective way to maintain your mouth and take preventative measures.

All on 4 Dental Implants (Fixed Implant Dentures)

  • All On 4 is a dental implant technique where the upper or lower set of teeth are replaced with just four implants. These four Implants act as a support mechanism for the placement of a new set of fixed teeth.

  • All on 4 dental implants are ideal for individuals who have missing teeth and seeking a long-lasting restoration solution. Furthermore, they are also recommended for those who have dentures that are uncomfortable or that slip frequently.

Benefits of All-On-4:

  • A cost effective solution- Your new replacement teeth require only four implants for each jaw. With fewer implants required, the cost is lowered.

  • Faster treatment and healing time- Your replacement arch can be attached to your implants immediately after insertion. There is no need to wait for healing time between surgery and tooth replacement.

  • Flexible options- You can choose a final prosthetic solution that is best for you, such as a fixed option (one with highest durability and chewing function, but cannot be removed) or a removable option (can be removed by you for easy cleaning).

  • Scientifically proven and documented- All-on-4 is supported by good clinical outcomes from studies in which four implants have been inserted to support a full replacement arch.
